VIVAnews — Jakarta Legal Aid Center condemns criminalization against an Ahmadi member named Deden, who, like many Indonesians, uses one name, by the Indonesian police as regards mob attack against Ahmadi members in Cikeusik, Banten. Police file charges toward Deden with crowd provocation and disregard of orders issued by state officials.

“Police accommodate the interests of both conflicting parties: the attackers, and the Ahmadi members. It’s not fair. It’s, on the other hand, biased,” said Director of Jakarta Legal Aid Center, Nurcholis Hidayat, in Jakarta today, March 1.

According to Nurcholis, one out of 12 suspects is an Ahmadi member who, according to him, should on the contrary be under witness protection.

“Most of the witnesses from Ahmadiyya went through interrogations from which the final testimonies will be used against them,” said Nurcholis.
