The National Police have named Ahmadiyah follower M. Nur Yam, 35, of Ciampea, Bogor, West Java, a suspect in connection with an attack on the Islamic sect on Friday night.

“Nur admitted to stabbing Randy, 15, with a kitchen knife,” spokesman Insp. Gen. Iskandar Hasan said Sunday as quoted by kompas.com.

Iskandar said that the incident triggered the attack on Ahmadiyah followers in Ciampea village.

On Friday night, hundreds of people set fire to a mosque, dozens of houses and vehicles belonging to the Islamic sect members.
